EGKA, IOGF affiliated traditional Okinawa
Goju ryu Karate
Shinzato dojo was founded in 2002 by Sensei Steve Gouldson, 5th Dan (E.G.K.A, I.O.G.K.F) following our move from St. Benedicts High School, Woodchurch where we were known as Upton Village Karate Club for over 10 years.
Shinzato dojo studies traditional Okinawa Goju ryu Karate, and is affiliated to the English Goju ryu Karate association (E.G.K.A) and International Okinawa Goju ryu Karate Federation (I.O.G.K.F). Goju ryu Karate is the direct decendant of the Naha-te style of open handed self defence developed in Okinawa in the 1900's. The training style retains the rich culture and tradition of the Okinawan people instilling their characteristic self disciplin and respect for others, as well as physical fitness, personal well being, and devestatingly effective self defence.
Shinzato dojo trains in a traditional purpose build dojo at, in a rural countryside location at Larton's Livery, Frankby. Students enjoy training in an authentic location and a friendly, family atmosphere.
Sensei Steve Gouldson has been training in traditional Okinawa Goju ryu Karate for 25 years and regularly attends national and international courses with I.O.G.K.F chief instructors.
Shinzato dojo invites students of all levels of ability to experience the unique training and opportunities that Goju ryu Karate offers. For further information please contact Steve Gouldson on Tel: 07841 742 026 or click on "contact" above.
